Baton Rouge Outpaces New Orleans in Step For Yo City! With More Than 6.3 Million Steps Combined

New Orleans, LA — September 22, 2025 — The bEHR Health app has announced the results of its latest community health challenge, Step For Yo City!, a weeklong competition that put Baton Rouge (225) and New Orleans (504) head-to-head to see which city could log the most steps in seven days.

From September 15–21, more than 100 participants laced up their shoes, tracked their steps, and rallied around their hometown pride. Whether walking through neighborhoods, running in parks, or getting extra movement in during daily routines, participants showed that small actions add up to big impact when taken together. Collectively, the two cities recorded an impressive 6.3 million steps in just one week.
Final Results:
Baton Rouge (225): 3,333,706 steps 🥇
New Orleans (504): 2,788,520 steps 🥈
Baton Rouge ultimately secured the victory, but both cities demonstrated the strength of community-driven accountability and the importance of making health a shared priority.

Individual performances were equally inspiring. Justin Legard of New Orleans led all participants with over 280,000 steps, while Baton Rouge’s Frank Ensley III closely followed with 253,474 steps. Many others crossed the 100,000-step milestone, reflecting a strong commitment to moving more and supporting their city.
