bEHR Health Lost Key Funding—What This Means for Our Community & How You Can Help 🌱

Updated: Mar 25

Dear bEHR Health Community,

We want to keep you informed about an important update. Recently, we lost a major grant that would have funded bEHR through 2025, which means that over the next few months, we’ll need to slow down certain initiatives. While the official bEHR Health app launch remains on track for late summer/early fall (with secured funding), we will be making some short-term adjustments to sustain our mission.

Here’s What This Means:

Fewer community activations and in-person events 🎉 until we stabilize our funding.

A slower rollout of new partnerships 🤝🏾 as we focus on maintaining core services.

A stronger focus on driving subscriptions and fundraising 💡—you’ll see more efforts from us to generate support from both the community and institutional partners.

Scaling back on major challenges with large incentives 🏆—while community engagement remains a priority, large cash prizes for challenges will be on pause as we focus on financial sustainability.

Here’s What It Doesn’t Mean:

There will be no disruptions to the app: The Dacadoo-powered bEHR Health app remains fully operational and free to use.

The longevity of bEHR Health is not at risk: This is a temporary setback, not a threat to the company’s future.

We are not stepping away from our mission: Our commitment to building a healthier community 💙 remains stronger than ever.

It does not mean we are lowering the value of what we provide: Our tools, resources, and community support will continue to be available, and we’re doubling down on making bEHR Health an even stronger platform for long-term health transformation.

A Sustainable Future for bEHR Health 🌱

Right now, we are still operating through the Dacadoo app, which remains free to use. Upon the official release of the bEHR Health app, we will begin requiring a subscription to sustain the platform. However, we want to be clear—no one will ever be denied access to bEHR Health due to financial reasons. If you’re unable to afford the subscription, just send us an email, and we will provide you with full access at no cost, no questions asked.

That said, we are asking everyone who can pay to do so. Your subscription ensures that we can continue providing the tools, resources, and community experiences that help people take control of their health. This is about long-term sustainability—ensuring that bEHR Health can grow and serve our community for years to come.

Perspective: A Moment, Not a Crisis💡

Let’s be clear—there is no need for concern. This is a moment, not a crisis. Being transparent about this challenge is an opportunity to remind ourselves of an important lesson: setbacks happen, and the way we respond to them matters. Too often, when faced with adversity, people panic, scramble, and start cutting corners. But true progress, whether in health or in life, comes from accepting the moment for what it is, making a plan, and staying focused on the bigger vision.

We’re choosing to be open about this because that’s the kind of culture we want to build within our community—one where honesty, resilience, and long-term thinking matter more than appearances. We have nothing to prove to anyone, so we don’t have to pretend that everything is always perfect. That kind of toxic “always up, never down” or “fake it until you make it” mindset isn’t real, and it doesn’t serve anyone. What does serve us is facing challenges head-on, staying committed, and continuing to move forward together.

🤎 If you’re facing a tough moment in your own life right now, know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to acknowledge where you are, take a step back, and move forward with clarity and purpose. That’s exactly what we’re doing, and we know we’ll come out even stronger on the other side.

This is just one chapter, not the whole story. And we’re grateful to have you on this journey with us.

✊🏾 Thank you for being part of our community.

Your Health Partner for Life,

bEHR
